Progress.....

I am very much loving my Institut Estherderm regime. The products are just such a pleasure to use, the Day cream is a perfect make up base. The night cream is rich but not greasy, a little more scented than I would usually use but it leaves the skin super soft. I mix a few drops on retinol with the Cellular Concentrate at night. The eye treatment is lovely but I am very bad at remember ing to use it!!

I have also added Alpha H Micro cleanse twice a week and Liquid Gold every night before applying anything, like a toner I suppose.
So far so good. I am trying to decide on a Clarisonic......

Just look at the results so far!!!!

Adam Ant, anyone??

Me using the Eye Repair Lift Patches and looking fab

Institut Esthederm : First Impressions

My package of lovely skincare goodies arrived today from Salon Skincare, very quickly indeed, though I think they are based in Belfast which would explain that. I purchased five items:

Smoothing Protective Day Cream 50ml
Cellular Concentrate Serum 30ml
Firming Night Cream 50ml
Restructuring Eye Contour Cream 15ml
20 x Patch Lift Contour Eye Repair

My first job was to check everything out and make sure thay weren't heavily scented, which would render the products unusable for me. Thankfully they are all unscented and very mild, with lovely textures. I wore the Day Cream today under my Omorivicza Complexion Enhancer and I was very pleased with the effect. My skin felt extremely soft and I also noticed it didn't get nearly as oily as usual, despite being in a hot car all day long. I am looking forward to trying the eye repair patches.

So my initial thoughts are that these products are very good indeed, but we will see, I reckon it will take a few months to use them up and I will reserve judgement until then.

Frailty, thy name is Woman!!

Why am I quoting from Hamlet? Well, I was just reminded of Gertrude, Hamlet's fickle mother, chided by her aggrieved son for flitting from one man to another when the chips were down. sadly, the fickle Jezebel in this case is Yours Truly. At least in matters of skincare, anyhow. (My husband sadly for him, is firmly stuck with me for the foreseeable future). Just recently I made and posted a video extolling the virtues of some skincare products that I had tried and really liked. I quote : " I really love Cold Plasma....I don't think I would like to be without this product.." That was until I bought a sunscreen from a French Skincare company called Institut Esthederm. This company seem to take quite a different approach to skincare products, they use ingredients which you don't find in most other lines. I was so impressed with the sunscreen that I was seduced into looking at their other products. One thing led to another......
Hello Handsome............................

Let's just say that a whole new regime is winging its way to me as we speak. The only thing I can say in my defence is that the products are better value for money, and should last roughly 30-50% longer than the Perricone MD products I was previously using. I know it's a gamble, especially with my ridiculously sensitive skin. I will continue to use the Peter Thomas Roth Peel Pads, to which I remain eternally faithful, and my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish will keep its place also.

The experiment continues...

Some Products Fight Back!!

Holy Crap.

I am officially ANNOYED today. Why? Because sometimes companies really take for granted that you are plain dumb. And sometimes you realise that you ARE just plain dumb.

I mentioned in my last post that I had used Prototype #37c, without great results. I decided that I would return the product, because I really didn't think it was for me, I had spent almost €200 for two bottles of the stuff and they guranteed a refund within 90 days. However, there is no address on their website. So I emailed them. No reply. Now I have gone over 90 days and still no reply. So I decided that I would try it again, if I was suck with it. So last night I used it after my Retinol Serum. My God, within a few minutes my face was ON FIRE!!! I had to wash it off immediately and take antihstamines just so I could get to sleep. Today my face looks OK but it feels tight and my eyes are puffy.

So I have a useless product and no way of sending it back!! What a fool I was to buy from a site that didn't state its return address clearly. If anyone like this product and wants to but or swap it, please let me know, I have one unopened bottle.

My New Hobby : Fighting the First Signs of Ageing

Since I last posted to this blog, I have conducted several more experiments, with varying results. I moved on from Dermajuv to Eyelastin, with Skinlastin for the face. Suffice to say it was nothing to write home about. Expensive and underwhelming. Then I tried Prototype #37c, which may sound like a missile defence system but is actually a cocktail of neuropeptides with a dash of Hyaluronic Acid thrown in for good measure. This didn't work the miracle I was hoping for, but I will have to use it up anyway as I have been unable to get a response from this company regarding returns. HRRMMPH.

Next was the Perricone phase of my research. After some SERIOUS dithering I bought Cold Plasma and soon after Cold Plasma Eye. At last!! Results!! Cold Plasma DID MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO MY SKIN!!! There was a definite smoothness, a certain glow, just something. I got compliments. That's usually enough to convince me that something is working.
I must say that I also started exfoliating daily with a 20% Glycolic Acid solution, and I use the cult classic Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish twice daily. I have also added Nubo Dynamic Retinol Boosting Serum at night. I don't have the patience to carry out a more controlled experiment.

I am now just using up the last of my jar of Cold Plasma. Do I repurchase? Is it time to hang up the labcoat? Hmmm, not sure. There's got to be something even better out there........

Dermajuv Verdict

I used Dermajuv for about six weeks. I found it gentle and I had no reaction to it. It definitely reduced puffiness and dark circles. However I didn't find it reduced fine lines noticeably.

Overall it was OK but I won't repurchase. I have moved on to Eyelastin and will update.....

THE GREAT EYE CREAM CAPER

I have gone and lost it completely. I have now probably ordered everything from every online store in Christendom make up wise. So what now?? In the process of applying all this lovely eyeshadow, I have discovered a horrible truth: MY EYES ARE GETTING A BIT SAGGY!!

This is NOT acceptable.

There fore I dived into the electronic shark infested waters again with renewed vigour, in search of the top rated eye gels, serums, creams etc., to take away these accursed lines. Now, having said all that, the lines aren't that bad. I am not like the Before and After women on the websites, I have a few modest lines, a bit of bagginess, some dark circles, nothing awful. But it's the first little trickle of age and I am shocked at how much I panicked about it.

So these guys have managed to extract a lot of money out of me, yet again. At the moment I am using Caudalie products and they are really nice, the Eau Tonique is wonderful, as is the Radiance Revealing Masque, also I use the Pulpe Vitaminee Serum twice daily, plus the Pulpe Vitaminee 1st Wrinkle cream for eyes. Since i stopped using the Clinique Clarifying Lotion and switched to Caudalie, I can't believe the difference in the smoothness and radiance of my skin. I do actually look younger, but not in any specific way. So I plan to start using the heavy guns on my eyes anyway, and there are some other skin products I have ordered so we'll see. I will post photos for my own and your edification.

Reunions are hard work

I am trying to trace people from my year in secondary school for a reunion in March. It is really hard work!! I have managed to have it announced on national radio which I reckon is pretty impressive, but now i am going after the local churches etc., I have to make a notice i can post to people for putting up around the place. It's mad.

Thinking of making a video for youTube, I have so many amazing hauls recently, really would love to show them off and review some of the products. I will definitely do this soon.
